As a Canadian veteran, you are able to apply for financial assistance in order to get education, whether that’s going back to college or completing a short-term program. This financial support can also be used on security guard training programs around the country. In order to qualify for this assistance, you need to have been honourably discharged from the Canadian Armed forces on or after April 1, 2006. To receive the full amount of funding, you need to have at least 12 years of authorized paid days (4,382 days), and to receive 50% of funding you need to have at least 6 years of authorized paid days (2,191 days).
